About Me

My interest in wine began when I moved to Denver to help my family build their new winery and event facility: Balistreri Vineyards. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with every facet of the business. By working hard in the cellar and tasting room I quickly gained a deep respect for the work and dedication that is required to produce and sell a quality product.

I have taken this passion and applied it to all aspects of my life. I’ve earned several sommelier certifications and also a Bachelor of Arts at MSU that combined marketing, hospitality and science under the umbrella of the Beverage Industry. Post-graduation, I traveled along the coast and met and made connections with small wine producers in California, Oregon and Washington. I also visited Oaxaca, spending time with a still-undistributed Mezcal producer whose focus is not only quality but sustainability alike.

All of these experiences have informed and enriched my professional career at Joy Wine & Spirits. I take pride in my ability to connect with both consumers and producers. I have been on both sides of the aisle; I know what it takes to produce an authentic product, and also how to sell it. With this unique vantage point, I’ve had the pleasure to build brands that I believe in from the ground up. I have built long-lasting relationships with consumers, producers, colleagues, and distributors. As a buyer, this has allowed me to  lead the market in emerging categories. For example, last year I carried and successfully sold over 40 different SKUS of Cru Beaujolais – the best selection in the state  As a manager, I have succeeded in motivating and educating the staff, creating incentives and increasing sales.  

My goal in this industry is to champion naturally produced wine and spirits. I believe my passion and knowledge in this area will provide interesting opportunities down the road.
